Future Nolstagia

So, Future Musical Festival 2013 was a total success!

And it's also safe the say, that older crowds are the most violent, aggressive group of people to mosh with! Getting close to the barriers for Temper Trap, I was pushed all over the shop once The Stone Roses greeted the crowd with their presence to the highly intoxicated fans. It got to a point that it may have been dangerous for several people, especially the ladies in the crowd. People were getting carried over the barrier by the security guards because they couldn't cope with the claustrophobic state they were in. I don't blame them, but personally it was exhilarating and I had a blast!

Although I had honestly never heard of the Stone Roses, I must say it was the mosh pit I had ever experienced. It was followed up by the amazing Bloc Party, which was the ultimate set to finish up the day. Luckily enough I scored the guitarist's pick, so stoked!

The amount of people that were there that possibly wouldn't have a clue what happened that day due to  high intoxication is a little disheartening in terms of lack of appreciation for the music that was playing. Music festivals tend to have that sort of reputation; a place for many to come together, bound by the alcohol and drugs. In the morning when my friend went to purchase a bottle of water there was a nearby girl making a fuss because the event wasn't selling any alcoholic beverages until 1pm. At the time it was midday and it is fair enough for the event to follow the regulations of Responsible Service of Alcohol, especially when trying to maintain order of just a large amount of people in one venue.

Later  in the day, whilst waiting for Temper Trap, a fellow tanned up tattooed "lad" was overhead asking "where are all the ganga's at?" after he was pushed off a girl by her boyfriend. Seriously? Is that why you're here? I know I may sound a little uptight and that I need to relax, I'm not that anal about the whole situation, but come on, save that for the filthy clubs back home. Although I must say it is hilarious to witness.

Back onto happier notes, it really was a fantastic day and I managed to get some decent photographs, a few of which I have presented here. So, I'll leave this here for you all. I hope you all had a great weekend and look forward to a great week ahead. Bye!
