Creepy Crawlies.

Say hello to my little friends!

If you don't like creepy crawlers, then I guess you wouldn't feel too welcome coming over to my house. Since I like in the mountain, these little fellas can be found here and there in the nooks and crannies. I currently have one living quietly and content in my room above my door. I don't mind him there, he ventured inside my room in the night when I left my door ajar a couple of nights ago. So, are you ready for some creepy crawly facts?! I know I am! I can feel the tingly sensation already!

A lot like other spiders, Huntsman spiders, or more technically called Sparassidae, use their venom to immobilise prey and to assist in digestion. Regardless of their size, they are harmless to healthy humans, and only bite as a reaction of defence. They are actually widely acknowledged beneficial as they feed off insect pests, especially in households. It is uncertain of a Huntsman's provocation to bite, though it is known that female Sparassidae bite in orderly to aggressively defend their egg sacs and young if a threat were to arise. Even is a Huntsman were to bite unintentionally on a human, it is not fatal and would rarely need hospital treatment.

So, Mr Sparassidae is in a way, my guardian angel, keeping my room free of pests, looking after me while I sleep. Ah, he will venture off eventually. We never fret and quickly swoop it outside, we just let them be until they are ready to move on. There really isn't any need to be alarmed. I mean, really, what are you afraid of? Would you prefer the fling cockroaches to explore your bedroom at 1:30am? I'll let you decided.
